Cipriano de Valera (c. 1532-1602) was a Spanish Protestant reformer and theologian, known primarily for his revision of Casiodoro de Reina's Bible translation, which gave rise to the Reina-Valera Bible. He studied in Seville, where he came into contact with Protestant ideas. He fled the Spanish Inquisition and went into exile in Geneva and London, dedicating himself to teaching and continuing his biblical work.
