John Vine Hall (1773-1860) was an English Methodist writer, known primarily for his devotional and autobiographical work "The Sinner's Friend", published in 1836. He was born in Charford, Fordingbridge, Hampshire. After a religious conversion in his youth, he dedicated himself to writing spiritual texts that achieved great popularity and were translated into several languages. Professionally, he worked as a bookseller and stationer.
