Experience the inaugural "Giant Size" Red Sonja with a new story by Michael Avon Oeming and a collection of never-before-reprinted, remastered, and newly colored classic tales, including Howard Chaykin's work in color for the first time.
Giant Size Red Sonja #1 is presented as a Red Sonja 35th Anniversary Historic Event, marking the very first "Giant Size" Red Sonja publication. This issue features an all-new story penned by Red Sonja writer Michael Avon Oeming, with artwork provided by Ron Adrian, known for his work on Supergirl. Beyond the new narrative, the comic also compiles a selection of classic Red Sonja stories that have never been reprinted before. All of these classic materials have undergone a complete remastering and recoloring process. Notably, the Howard Chaykin stories included are presented in color for the very first time. The specific classic stories featured are: "Episode" by Roy Thomas and John Buscema, which has been remastered by Jose Villarrubia and originally appeared in Conan Saga #48; "Red Sonja She Devil With a Sword" by Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin, remastered and presented in color for the first time, originally from Kull and the Barbarians #2; and "Day of the Sword" also by Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin, remastered and in color for the first time, originally from Kull and the Barbarians #3. The publication is further enhanced with pin-ups from a variety of artists, including Dick Giordano, Neal Adams, Frank Thorne, and Esteban Maroto. The cover art for this special issue is a 50/50 split collaboration between Mel Rubi and Howard Chaykin.
