Beryl T. Atkins (1921-2007) was a British lexicographer and linguist, best known for her work on English dictionaries, especially the Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's Dictionary, where she was one of the main architects of the corpus-based methodology. Her career focused on the application of corpus linguistics to lexicography, advocating an approach based on real language use. She was an influential figure in computational lexicography and the creation of tools for language study.
