Camilo Vallés (1912-2010) was a Spanish Jesuit priest, writer, and missionary who spent most of his life in India. He was born in Santander and entered the Society of Jesus in 1928. He studied mathematics and theology, and was ordained a priest in 1946. In 1949, he was sent to India as a missionary, where he taught mathematics at Ahmedabad University and dedicated himself to the study of Indian culture and philosophy. He was a prolific writer, with over 70 books in Gujarati, English, and Spanish, addressing topics of spirituality, culture, and everyday life.
