About the author Joseph de Moret:

José de Moret (Zaragoza, 1615 - Huesca, 1687) was a Spanish historian, chronicler, and religious figure. A member of the Society of Jesus, he taught philosophy and theology at the Jesuit colleges of Huesca and Zaragoza. He was appointed chronicler of the Kingdom of Aragon in 1660, a position in which he succeeded Lupercio Leonardo de Argensola. His main work is "Anales del Reino de Aragón," which expanded upon the work begun by Jerónimo Zurita. He was also the author of several historical and genealogical works.
