León Carbonero y Sol (Cádiz, 1821 – Madrid, 1896) was a Spanish writer, journalist, historian, and politician. He was a prominent figure of the Progressive Party and held various public offices, including civil governor and deputy to the Cortes. He was elected a member of the Real Academia Española in 1874. His prolific work includes poetry, theater, historical novels, and essays, also notable for his active journalistic work in newspapers and magazines of his time.
