Frederic Kitton was a British author and historian, known primarily for his works on Charles Dickens. He was born in 1856 and died in 1904. He was an avid collector of manuscripts and first editions, which allowed him access to unpublished material and personal correspondence of Dickens. Among his most notable works are "Dickensiana: A Bibliography of the Literature Relating to Charles Dickens and His Writings" (1886), "Charles Dickens: His Life, Writings, and Personality" (1902), and "The Novels of Charles Dickens: A Bibliography and Sketch". He was also the founder of the "Dickens Fellowship" in 1902, a society dedicated to preserving the memory and work of Dickens.
