Edward Kirk Rawson was an American professor, naval historian, and mathematician. He was born in Albany, New York, on May 31, 1846. He graduated from Union College in 1869 and then studied at Princeton Theological Seminary. He was a professor of Mathematics at Union College from 1877 to 1888. Subsequently, he was a professor of Mathematics and Head of the Science Department at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, from 1888 until his retirement in 1913. He is known for his work in naval history and for his publications in that field. He passed away on March 24, 1928.
