Pedro Eleodoro Paulet Mostajo (Arequipa, Peru, 1874 - Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1943) was a Peruvian engineer, scientist, and diplomat, considered a pioneer of astronautics. In 1895, he designed and built a rocket engine that used nitrogen peroxide and gasoline, and successfully tested its propulsion with conical nozzles. He also conceived the "Torpedo Airship," an airship with rocket propulsion, ahead of his time in the field of rocketry.
