Lucien Biart

Lucien Biart (1828-1897) was a French novelist and poet, known primarily for his works set in Mexico, where he resided for several years as secretary to the French minister. He wrote numerous adventure novels for young people, often with exotic themes and exploring the nature and indigenous cultures of Mexico. Some of his most known works include "Le Boute-en-train" (1861), "Adventures d'un jeune naturaliste au Mexique" (1869), and "Les Aventures de Jean Laflamme" (1888). He was awarded the Montyon Prize by the French Academy in 1870.
