Fray Luis de Granada (1504-1588) was a Spanish theologian, mystic, and ascetic writer of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans). He is a central figure in the spiritual literature of the Spanish Golden Age. Among his most influential works are "Guía de pecadores" (Guide for Sinners) and "Libro de la oración y meditación" (Book of Prayer and Meditation), which were widely disseminated and translated, exerting great influence on Catholic spirituality. He was also a friend and spiritual director of Saint Teresa of Ávila.
