Magdalena Mondragón (1913-1989) was a Mexican writer, journalist, screenwriter, and playwright. She was born in Monclova, Coahuila. She is known for her novel "Tenemos sed" (We Are Thirsty) (1954), which addresses social injustice and the condition of women, as well as for "Soy una mujer" (I Am a Woman) (1957) and "La tierra te llama" (The Earth Calls You) (1947). Her work explored the social and political reality of Mexico, with a focus on female characters and marginalized sectors. She was also a columnist and participated in radio and cinema.
