Manuel Ballesteros Gaibrois (Madrid, 1911-2002) was a prominent Spanish historian, Americanist, and university professor. The son of also historian Antonio Ballesteros Beretta, he earned a doctorate in Philosophy and Letters. He was a professor of American History at the Complutense University of Madrid and a member of the Royal Academy of History. His research focused on the discovery and colonization of America, as well as the ethnography of pre-Columbian cultures, participating in various expeditions. He is the author of an extensive body of work on the history of America.
