María Esther Vázquez

María Esther Vázquez was an Argentine writer, journalist, poet, and biographer, born in Buenos Aires in 1937 and passed away in the same city in 2017. She studied Literature at the University of Buenos Aires and was a disciple and collaborator of Jorge Luis Borges, with whom she co-authored the books "Introducción a la literatura inglesa" (An Introduction to English Literature) and "Literaturas germánicas medievales" (Medieval Germanic Literatures). She also worked with Adolfo Bioy Casares. Her work encompasses biographies, essays, poetry, short stories, and novels, with a particular interest in Argentine literature, history, and culture. Among her most notable biographies are those of Jorge Luis Borges and Victoria Ocampo. She was a member of the Argentine Academy of Letters.
