Marie de Mirabeau, known by her pseudonym Gyp, was a French novelist and playwright born in 1849 and who died in 1932. Her full name was Sibylle Gabrielle Marie Antoinette de Riqueti de Mirabeau, Comtesse de Martel de Janville. She was the granddaughter of the famous French Revolution orator, Honoré Gabriel Riqueti, Count of Mirabeau. She was a controversial figure known for her social and political satire, as well as for her conservative and antisemitic views.
