Matías de Novoa was a Spanish historian and chronicler of the 17th century. He served as royal chronicler to King Philip IV of Spain. His best-known work is the "Historia de Felipe IV, rey de España" (History of Philip IV, King of Spain), also referred to as his memoirs, which is an important source for the study of that reign.
