Antonio Ballesteros Beretta (1927-2022) was a Spanish historian specialized in the Middle Ages and the history of America. Professor of History of America at the Complutense University of Madrid, he was a disciple of Antonio Ballesteros y de Ballesteros, his father, who was also a renowned medievalist. His work included studies on Spanish colonization in America, the figure of Christopher Columbus, and aspects of peninsular medieval culture and society. He was a corresponding academician of the Royal Academy of History.
