Osvaldo Bayer (1927-2018) was an Argentine historian, writer, journalist, and screenwriter, known for his social and political commitment. His most notable work is "La Patagonia rebelde" (Rebellious Patagonia), an investigation into the rural workers' strike in 1921-1922. He also wrote "Los anarquistas expropiadores" (The Expropriating Anarchists) and "Severino Di Giovanni, el idealista de la violencia" (Severino Di Giovanni, the Idealist of Violence). He was a critic of dictatorships and lived in exile.
