Patricio Lynch Solar (1824-1886) was a Chilean naval and military officer, an admiral of the Chilean Navy and an army general. He participated in the War of the Pacific, where he commanded the Expedition to Northern Peru. In addition to his distinguished military and diplomatic career, he left written reports and memoirs about his campaigns and experiences, which are considered valuable historical documents.
