Pedro Emilio Dancuart

Pedro Emilio Dancuart (1852-1921) was a Peruvian historian, journalist, and diplomat. He was born in Lima and was noted for his research on the history of Peru, especially during the colonial and independence periods. He was director of the General Archive of the Nation and the National Library of Peru. Among his best-known works are "Annals of the Inquisition of Lima" and various studies on Peruvian historical figures and events. He also held diplomatic posts and was an important figure in the cultural and intellectual sphere of his time.
