Ramón de Mesonero Romanos (Madrid, 1803-1882) was a Spanish writer and journalist, a prominent figure of Romanticism and literary costumbrismo. Known for his descriptions of Madrid life and customs, he is considered one of the pioneers of costumbrista journalism in Spain. His most relevant works include Escenas matritenses and Memorias de un setentón. He was a member of the Royal Spanish Academy.
