Rémy Poignault is professor emeritus of Latin literature and civilization at Clermont Auvergne University, France. He was director of the journal Cahiers du GITA (Groupe International de Recherche sur le Théâtre Antique) and his research focuses on ancient theater, Latin epic, and imperial Latin literature, as well as the reception of ancient authors.
