René François Rohrbacher (1789-1856) was a French priest and ecclesiastical historian, born in Langatte. He is primarily known for his monumental "Universal History of the Catholic Church" (Historia Universal de la Iglesia Católica), a work in French that covers the history of the Church from its beginnings until the 19th century. He served as a professor of theology at the Nancy seminary and as a chaplain.
