Robert Elliott Flickinger (1852-1926) was an American Presbyterian pastor, missionary, and author. He is mainly known for his works on the history of the Iowa Indians, including "The Flickinger Collection of Iowa Pioneer Biographies" and "The History of the Iowa Indians". He was born in Pennsylvania and graduated from Gettysburg College and the Western Theological Seminary. He served as a missionary in Oregon and Washington and was also a pastor in several churches in Iowa and Nebraska. His research and writings provided valuable information on the history and biographies of early settlers and Native American tribes in the Midwest region of the United States.
