Rodrigo Pesántez Rodas (Cuenca, Ecuador, 1937 - 2012) was a prominent Ecuadorian poet, essayist, university professor, and diplomat. He was rector of the University of Cuenca and a member of the Ecuadorian Academy of Language. His poetic and essayistic work is characterized by its philosophical depth and exploration of Andean identity.
