Samanta Schweblin is an Argentine writer born in Buenos Aires in 1978. She is known for her short stories and novels, which often explore themes of the unsettling, the surreal, and the psychological, with a concise and disturbing style. She has received numerous awards, including the Casa de las Américas Prize for her short story collection "La respiración cavernaria" (2012) and the Tigre Juan Award for her novel "Distancia de rescate" (2014), which was also a finalist for the Man Booker International Prize.
