Teodoro de Almeida (1722-1804) was a Portuguese Catholic priest, natural philosopher, scientist, and educator. A member of the Congregation of the Oratory, he was born in Lisbon. He is mainly known for his work "Recreação Filosófica" (Philosophical Recreation), a treatise that sought to harmonize religious faith with the scientific advances of his time. His work was influential in the dissemination of scientific and philosophical knowledge in the Lusophone and Hispanophone worlds.
