Vicente Romero y Girón

Vicente Romero y Girón (Llerena, March 15, 1832 – Madrid, July 23, 1901) was a Spanish journalist, politician and writer. He studied Law in Seville. He directed the newspaper La Discusión and was a deputy to the Cortes for Llerena in several legislatures. He held the positions of Minister of Overseas Affairs and Minister of Public Works during the Democratic Sexennium. He was a member of the Royal Spanish Academy since 1871. His work includes historical and political studies and essays.
