Víctor Balaguer i Cirera (Barcelona, 1827 - Madrid, 1901) was a Spanish writer, journalist, playwright, and politician. A key figure of the Catalan Renaixença and Spanish Romanticism. He held the positions of Minister of Overseas and Minister of Public Works. He founded the Víctor Balaguer Library Museum in Vilanova i la Geltrú. His work includes poetry, theater, and historical novels.
