Arturo Pérez-Reverte (Cartagena, Spain, 1951) is a Spanish journalist and writer. He worked as a war reporter for more than twenty years (1973-1994), covering conflicts in various parts of the world. He is known for his historical and adventure novels, with notable works such as the Captain Alatriste series, "The Flanders Panel", "The Club Dumas", and "The Queen of the South". His books have been translated into numerous languages and many have been adapted into film and television. Since 2003, he has been a member of the Royal Spanish Academy.
