Wilkie Collins

William Wilkie Collins (1824-1889) was an English novelist, playwright, and short story writer. He is known for his sensation novels, particularly "The Woman in White" (1860) and "The Moonstone" (1868), which are considered the first mystery and detective novels. He was a close friend and collaborator of Charles Dickens. His works often addressed themes of legal and social injustice in the Victorian era.
