Auguste Henri Dufour

Auguste Henri Dufour (1798-1865) was a French geographer, cartographer, and military engineer. He is known for his contributions to topographic cartography and for publishing numerous detailed maps, including military and geographic atlases of France and other European countries. His works were fundamental to the development of modern cartography in the 19th century.
