Bartolomé José Gallardo

Bartolomé José Gallardo y Blanco (1777-1852) was a Spanish bibliographer, writer, and politician. He was known for his monumental work "Ensayo de una Biblioteca Española de libros raros y curiosos", published posthumously. He served as a deputy to the Cortes and a royal librarian, and is considered a key figure in Spanish bibliography. His work was fundamental for the preservation and study of ancient Hispanic literature.
