Buenaventura Carlos Aribau

Bonaventura Carles Aribau (Barcelona, 1798 – Barcelona, 1862) was a Catalan writer, poet, and politician. He studied law and worked as a librarian, journalist, and professor of political economy at the University of Barcelona. He was a key figure in the Catalan Renaixença, with his poem "La Pàtria" (1833) considered the starting point of modern Catalan literature. He also served as a deputy in the Spanish Cortes.
