Ceferino González y Díaz Tuñón (1831-1894) was an eminent Spanish Dominican priest, philosopher, theologian, and cardinal. Born in León, he entered the Order of Preachers and studied in Spain and the Philippines, where he was a professor. He served as Bishop of Córdoba and Archbishop of Seville and Valencia, before being appointed cardinal by Pope Leo XIII in 1884. He was a defender and renovator of Thomism, leaving a vast philosophical and theological body of work.
