Claudia Piñeiro is an Argentine writer, journalist, and screenwriter, born in Burzaco, Buenos Aires province, in 1960. After graduating as an accountant, she dedicated herself to writing, standing out for her novels, often in the crime or suspense genre, which address social and gender issues, and critical commentary on contemporary society. Among her most recognized works are The Thursday Widows, Betibú, A Little Luck, Cathedrals, and Elena Knows. Several of her novels have been adapted for film and theater. She has been honored with various literary awards, such as the Clarín Novel Prize and the German Crime Novel Award.
