Daniel Mato is a Uruguayan sociologist and educator, known for his research and publications on higher education, globalization, culture, and indigenous peoples in Latin America. He has worked as a researcher and professor at various universities in the region, including the Central University of Venezuela and the Center for Postdoctoral Research (CIPOST). His studies focus on the intersection between educational policies, interculturality, and the social function of universities, especially in relation to indigenous and Afro-descendant populations. He has coordinated regional projects and edited several books exploring these themes.
