Alexander Balloch Grosart (1827-1899) was a Scottish clergyman, literary editor, and bibliographer. He studied at the University of Edinburgh and was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1856. He dedicated himself intensely to editing rare literature from the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods, as well as works by Puritan authors, often through private printing clubs he founded. His editions made numerous obscure texts accessible, although they were occasionally criticized for their textual accuracy.
