Ejnar Mikkelsen was a Danish polar explorer and author, born on December 23, 1880, in Vester Brønderslev. He is known for his expeditions to the Arctic, especially for his search for the missing Mylius-Erichsen expedition and for his efforts to map northeastern Greenland. He published several books recounting his journeys and experiences in the Arctic, such as "Lost in the Arctic" and "Mikkelsen's Arctic Adventures". He died on May 1, 1971.
