ELEANOR CATTON

Eleanor Catton is a New Zealand novelist and screenwriter. She was born in London, Ontario, Canada, and moved to New Zealand at the age of six. She studied for a Master's degree in creative writing at the International Institute of Modern Letters at Victoria University of Wellington. Her first novel, "The Rehearsal" (2009), won the Adam Foundation Prize in Fiction and the Booker Prize for Young Authors of the Commonwealth. Her second novel, "The Luminaries" (2013), won the Booker Prize, making her the youngest person to receive this award and the second New Zealander. She also co-wrote the screenplay for the television adaptation of "The Luminaries".
