Elvira García y García (Trujillo, May 25, 1862 - Lima, January 21, 1951) was a Peruvian educator, writer, journalist, and feminist. She is considered a pioneer in women's education in Peru and a key figure in the early 20th-century feminist movement. She founded and directed several schools for young ladies, introducing pedagogical reforms and advocating for the comprehensive education of women. She wrote numerous articles and books on education, feminism, and literature, and was the first woman to direct a newspaper in Peru, "El Perú Ilustrado". Her work advocated for gender equality and women's access to education and active roles in society.
