Emmanuel Carballo

Emmanuel Carballo (Guadalajara, Jalisco, August 29, 1929 - Mexico City, April 20, 2020) was a Mexican writer, poet, editor, and literary critic. He was known for his interviews with key figures in Hispanic American literature, compiled in several volumes. He founded and directed various magazines and publishing houses, being an influential figure in promoting new generations of authors. He received the National Prize for Sciences and Arts in Linguistics and Literature in 2006.
