Enrique José Varona

Enrique José Varona (1849-1933) was a prominent Cuban philosopher, writer, educator, politician, and diplomat. He was born in Camagüey and was a central figure in Cuban thought from the late 19th to the early 20th century. He is known for his positivist thought and his advocacy for educational and scientific modernization in Cuba. He held important positions such as Secretary of Public Instruction. His notable works include "Artículos y discursos" and "Conferencias filosóficas".
