Eugenio d'Ors (1881-1954) was a Spanish writer, journalist, philosopher, and art critic, a central figure of Novecentismo. His prolific and varied work includes essays, aphorisms, narrative, and criticism, with a cultivated and elegant style. He was a member of the Royal Spanish Academy and director of the National Library.
