Fermín Abella y Blasco was a Spanish jurist, writer, and politician of the 19th century. He was born in Valencia in 1832 and died in Madrid in 1891. He studied Law and was a professor of Criminal Law at the University of Valencia and later at the Central University of Madrid. He was dean of the Faculty of Law in Madrid, a senator for life, and director general of Public Instruction. He was renowned for his legal work and for his efforts in modernizing the teaching of Law in Spain.
