George Uscatescu

George Uscatescu (1918-2003) was a Romanian-Spanish philosopher, essayist, and professor. Exiled in Spain after World War II, he earned a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Madrid and developed a prolific academic and literary career. He was a Professor of History of Philosophy at the University of Santiago de Compostela and later at the Complutense University of Madrid. His work covers topics in political philosophy, history of ideas, aesthetics, and literary criticism, with a focus on European culture and the defense of individual freedom against totalitarianisms.
