Gerardo Diego Cendoya (Santander, October 3, 1896 – Madrid, July 21, 1987) was a Spanish poet, writer, and university professor. He belonged to the Generation of '27. He cultivated both traditional and avant-garde poetry, being one of the main promoters of Ultraism and Creacionismo in Spain. He was awarded the National Prize for Literature in 1925 and the Cervantes Prize in 1979.
