Gibran Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931) was a Lebanese-American poet, painter, and essayist. He was born in Bsharri, Lebanon, and immigrated to the United States in 1895. His most famous work is "The Prophet" (1923), a collection of philosophical essays and poems that has been translated into numerous languages. His literary style is characterized by poetic and mystical language, exploring themes such as love, friendship, death, and religion. He was also a talented painter. He died in New York.
