Gibran Khalil Gibran (1883-1931) was a Lebanese-American poet, philosopher, novelist, and painter. He was born in Bsharri, Lebanon, and emigrated to the United States in 1895. He is globally known for his work "The Prophet," published in 1923, a collection of 26 poetic essays that has been translated into more than 100 languages. His writings explore themes such as love, friendship, death, and spirituality, influenced by his Lebanese heritage and his experience in the Western world. He wrote in both Arabic and English.
